  • Have you ever had to live in a context in which your language is not spoken by others?

Know that this is a situation that many youngers and adults live when after living for a long time immersed in their native language, must learn to live in other settings in which English, for example, is the predominant language?

A similar situation occurs with those who speaking Spanish must change your address to an English environment.

Studies show that these adaptive processes that pass from the cultural and social development to the emotional and academic, are quite serious and can potentially cause severe sequelae of personality. It is here again, where learning a second language before going to get involved in another context unrelated to native, takes a major importance.

Students in their homeland or usual setting in which have shown excellent academic performance and coexistence, tend to become apathetic to the study, timid, intimidated and sometimes aggressive from being unable to develop according to their personality in the context they are facing and that ends up bringing to "bullying" or school bullying.

Currently, many educational institutions are developing within their Curriculum, inclusion strategies for these students.

Strategies that come to join some other ones that had to be implemented for people with physical disabilities (blindness, deafness, muteness, mobility) and exceptional talents among others. Topic to be discussed in a future article.

The normalization of these students 'outsiders' and the process of adaptation, have been another factor to consider in promoting learning a second language, which ultimately ends up being the solution to the problems of adaptation to which we refer in this paper.

Cultural appropriation through language is dominant theme when studying a second language and it's worth bearing in mind when deciding to learn a new one. It is not simply the assimilation of terms, phrases and words in another language. It is also to learn about language and culture that surrounds it empower us to assume with respect and responsibility.
